Cyan: So what is it this time?
Belle's face shows a hint of disappointment.
Cyan: Don't tell me...
Belle: Well...it seems like you can only make boys, darling.
Cyan: Oh, I'm sorry, baby. I know how much you were hoping for a girl.
Belle: No, it's okay. It would have been nice but I guess it's not meant to be.
Our fourth son, Viridian, was born a few months later. Unlike the other boys, he is more of a mixture of the two of us. My skin tone and Belle's hair and eyes.
Just like the boys before him. he grew quickly, and became a rambunctious toddler.
By that time, Neptune had started school, making things easier for us.
We got unfortunate news that Dad passed away due to complications of old age. Understandably, Mom was distraught. She started spending most of her time visiting us. I think she was lonely.
Cyan: Hey Mom, I know that you're having a tough time, so Belle and I talked it over, and we want you to move in with us. The boys would love to have you around all the time.
Ivy: I'd like that, thanks Cyan. It-it's been so hard since your father died. I'm alone for the first time ever, and I don't know what to do with myself.
Cyan: Make yourself at home, Mom. We insist.
Ivy: I will, thanks, sweetie. I miss seeing your face everyday.
With mom moving in, our household is pretty full. We are hoping she'll be with us for a good while longer. So far, the kids are happy to have her around.
Belle and I have decided not to actively try for another baby. Our four boys are plenty to handle. If, somehow, another baby were to come along, we'd welcome it with open arms, but it doesn't seem like something that is likely to happen.
