What are you doing here?
Turq: Look, Ivy, I know you probably hate me, and it's justified, but I just wanna talk, that's it. I mean, if you want me to leave you alone, I understand, just say the word and I'm gone.
I'm surprised by how different he looks from back then. He looks...good. He's definitely changed over the past 17 years.
Ivy: *sigh* Alright, come in.
Turq: Wow, this place hasn't changed much. And you haven't changed either. Still as beautiful as back then.
Ivy: Oh, stop. What about you? It looks like you changed quite a bit.
Turq: Let's cut to the chase. I came here because I want to apologize.
Ivy: Why now, after all this time?
Turq: I ran into Cyan, and it was his idea. I didn't want to come around because I thought you would call the cops the moment I stepped onto the property. I wanted to keep the peace.
Ivy: So you know that Cyan's your son then?
Turq: Yes, he told me. He saw a photo in some book, I guess.
Ivy: Smart kid. Look, I'm sorry I lied to you. I felt that it was what was right to do given the circumstances. I couldn't have him grow up in that environment.
Turq: Listen, I get it, there's no need to apologize to me. That's why I'm here, remember?
Ivy, I'm sorry...for everything. For the drugs, for forcing sex on you, for beating you, for raping your sister...all of it. It was my fault, and I take full responsibility for my actions. After you told me that you lost the baby, I lost it, went on a bender. Then after the situation with Jade, I decided to take your advice and go to rehab. I have touched that s*** since. I figured you wouldn't want to see me ever again so I decided to stay away.
Ivy: I'm happy to hear that Turq. I'm glad you finally listened to me.
Turq: So...Ivy. I was wondering...will you give me another chance?
Ivy: I-I don't know.
I throw myself into his chest and he pulls me to him. I start to cry.
Ivy: *sniffling* You...just hurt me so much. How can I trust you after that? How do I know you won't go back to your old ways?
Turq: Look, I understand. If you don't want to, that's fine. I'll just leave.
Still in his arms, too comfortable to move, I answer.
Ivy: Okay...I'll give you one more chance. If you blow it...
Turq: I won't, I promise.
Without thinking, I lift my head to kiss him. I know that he's changed. His whole demeanor is different from back then. It's like night and day. It's going to be different this time, I just know it.

One year later...Turq: Hey, Cyan, I want to talk to you about something. I have a surprise for your mother. I just want to run it by you first.
Cyan: Okay, shoot.

Ivy's POV
Ivy: Movies are a very cliche date, you know. Not very creative.
Turq: Oh hush, you know you like it.
Ivy: Haha, yeah, I'm just pushing your buttons.
Turq: Ooh, look, a photobooth! Wanna take some pics?
Ivy: *giggling* What, are you five?
Turq: Oh come on, it'll be fun.
Ivy: Lead the way, Big Boy.
We get in the booth, and goof around, acting like obnoxious teenagers. Then things take an unexpected turn...
Turq: Ivy, I know we've had a rocky past, but I'm hoping this past year together has proved to you that I am a changed man. Will you do me the honor of being my wife?
Ivy: Oh, Turq, yo shouldn't have...Yes, I'd love to!
I'm in tears at this point, this time tears of joy. I love the man he has become, and I can't wait to spend the rest of my years with him.
We finished our movie date, but my mind was still reeling with what just happened. We didn't pay much attention to the movie after that. This was the best date I've ever been on.
I'm glad I gave him another chance. For the first time in a long time, I am truly happy.
