Chapter 6-10
Cyan's POV
Music Room, after school
Belle decided to join the music club at school. I was happy when I saw her in the room when I came in after class, playing guitar just as she said she liked to do. I was coming in after the rest of the club members left because it's easier to focus on my music with less people around. This had become my daily routine.
I came in, sat down at the piano and started to play, the keys gliding under my fingers as I got sucked into the music.
She seemed to suddenly notice that I was there, put down her guitar and walked over to me.
She stood there silently for a few minutes, just listening.
Belle: Wow, you're really good at that. Can I join you?
Cyan: Yeah, sure, have a seat.
She sat on the bench next to me, looking curious.
Belle: Can you teach me how to play?
Cyan: I'd love to. Just put your right hand here and your left hand there...
She picked it up pretty quickly, much faster than I expected. Eventually she stopped and urged me to keep playing. She laid her head on my shoulder, and just watched.
Belle: I could listen to this forever, it's so beautiful. Is it an original song?
Cyan: It is. I've been working on it for a while.
What I wasn't telling her is that she was my inspiration. Ever since I met her, I couldn't get her out of my head. There is something so intoxicating about her presence. One day I was practicing and the song came to fruition.
We stayed like this for a while, even after I had stopped playing. We were just relishing this moment. It was at this time that I felt that the two of us were meant to be.
The time came to go home, and I was sad to see this moment end.
Belle: Well I had fun today. I'm glad you convinced me to join.
Cyan: Yeah, me too. See you tomorrow?
Belle: You bet. See ya!
And, as promised, I saw her the next day, and everyday after school. I soon found myself longing to see her again.

Ivy's POV
We had a small intimate wedding with friends and family. It was a beautiful ceremony, and everyone had a great time.
Cyan had asked me if he could bring his 'friend,' Belle, as his plus one and I agreed. I hadn't met her before, so I was curious to see who he was so fond of to invite as a date to the wedding.
On the outside, she seems sweet and timid, but my gut is telling me there is more to her than there appears. I just get a weird feeling when I'm around her. Cyan is totally smitten with her, and that worries me.
Now that Turq and I are finally married, the three of us can officially be a family. I just hope that Cyan's relationship with Belle doesn't mess that up.
I just can't shake the feeling that something is going to happen between the two of them, sooner than later.
I hope I'm wrong.

Chapter 6-9
What are you doing here?
Turq: Look, Ivy, I know you probably hate me, and it's justified, but I just wanna talk, that's it. I mean, if you want me to leave you alone, I understand, just say the word and I'm gone.
I'm surprised by how different he looks from back then. He looks...good. He's definitely changed over the past 17 years.
Ivy: *sigh* Alright, come in.
Turq: Wow, this place hasn't changed much. And you haven't changed either. Still as beautiful as back then.
Ivy: Oh, stop. What about you? It looks like you changed quite a bit.
Turq: Let's cut to the chase. I came here because I want to apologize.
Ivy: Why now, after all this time?
Turq: I ran into Cyan, and it was his idea. I didn't want to come around because I thought you would call the cops the moment I stepped onto the property. I wanted to keep the peace.
Ivy: So you know that Cyan's your son then?
Turq: Yes, he told me. He saw a photo in some book, I guess.
Ivy: Smart kid. Look, I'm sorry I lied to you. I felt that it was what was right to do given the circumstances. I couldn't have him grow up in that environment.
Turq: Listen, I get it, there's no need to apologize to me. That's why I'm here, remember?
Ivy, I'm sorry...for everything. For the drugs, for forcing sex on you, for beating you, for raping your sister...all of it. It was my fault, and I take full responsibility for my actions. After you told me that you lost the baby, I lost it, went on a bender. Then after the situation with Jade, I decided to take your advice and go to rehab. I have touched that s*** since. I figured you wouldn't want to see me ever again so I decided to stay away.
Ivy: I'm happy to hear that Turq. I'm glad you finally listened to me.
Turq: So...Ivy. I was wondering...will you give me another chance?
Ivy: I-I don't know.
I throw myself into his chest and he pulls me to him. I start to cry.
Ivy: *sniffling* You...just hurt me so much. How can I trust you after that? How do I know you won't go back to your old ways?
Turq: Look, I understand. If you don't want to, that's fine. I'll just leave.
Still in his arms, too comfortable to move, I answer.
Ivy: Okay...I'll give you one more chance. If you blow it...
Turq: I won't, I promise.
Without thinking, I lift my head to kiss him. I know that he's changed. His whole demeanor is different from back then. It's like night and day. It's going to be different this time, I just know it.
....................................................................................................................................................................
One year later...Turq: Hey, Cyan, I want to talk to you about something. I have a surprise for your mother. I just want to run it by you first.
Cyan: Okay, shoot.

Ivy's POV
Ivy: Movies are a very cliche date, you know. Not very creative.
Turq: Oh hush, you know you like it.
Ivy: Haha, yeah, I'm just pushing your buttons.
Turq: Ooh, look, a photobooth! Wanna take some pics?
Ivy: *giggling* What, are you five?
Turq: Oh come on, it'll be fun.
Ivy: Lead the way, Big Boy.
We get in the booth, and goof around, acting like obnoxious teenagers. Then things take an unexpected turn...
Turq: Ivy, I know we've had a rocky past, but I'm hoping this past year together has proved to you that I am a changed man. Will you do me the honor of being my wife?
Ivy: Oh, Turq, yo shouldn't have...Yes, I'd love to!
I'm in tears at this point, this time tears of joy. I love the man he has become, and I can't wait to spend the rest of my years with him.
We finished our movie date, but my mind was still reeling with what just happened. We didn't pay much attention to the movie after that. This was the best date I've ever been on.
I'm glad I gave him another chance. For the first time in a long time, I am truly happy.

Chapter 6-8
Cyan's POV
Hey, Mom. I'm going to hang out with some friends, okay?

Ivy: Alright, just be back by 10!
Cyan: Roger that, love you!
Ivy: Love you, be safe!

I left the house around 5 PM, heading to the bar to take advantage of their weekly 'Teen Night."
I met with my cousin, Ice, and her friend Bluebelle, my brother Parsley, and my friend Cantaloupe and his girlfriend, Seafoam.
We meet up there everytime they have their 'Teen Night' because it's a way to have some good, clean fun complete with music/karaoke, television and non-alcoholic beer.
Bluebelle is the newest addition to our group, so tonight was the first time I've met her. While the others were goofing around, I decided to get to know her.
Cyan: Hey, it's Bluebell, right?
Bluebelle: Yeah, you can just call me Belle if you want.
Cyan: Okay...Belle. So tell me about yourself? How'd you meet Ice?
Belle: We're in most of the same classes. We were partners on a project and started hanging out after that.
Cyan: Very cool. What are you interested in? Any hobbies?
Belle: I love music. I'm learning to play guitar. What about you?
Cyan: I'm actually really into music too. I play piano, and I'm part of the Music Club at school. You should join, if you have the time. It's a lot of fun.
Belle: Hmmm....maybe I will.
We continued the small talk. The more I talked to her, the more of a connection I felt to her. She is so shy and sweet (and not to mention cute), but I can't help but think that there's more to her, like she's hiding something.
It was starting to get late. I look at my watch. S***, I'm gonna be late. Mom's gonna kill me. I said goodbye to my friends, and hurried out the door. I decided to cut through the park since it's a quicker way to get home.
As I was running along the walk way, I accidentally bump into a man walking the opposite direction. I turn to apologize to him.
Cyan: Sorry, my bad, are you alright?
???: It's okay, kid, no worries.
I stare at him for a moment. He looks so familiar. Where have I seen him before?
Then it clicked. The picture. The one I found of my parents in the album Mom gave me. It's him... it's got to be. But...he's dead isn't he? I need to find out.
Cyan: Sorry, Sir, I know this is random, but do you know Ivy Greene.
Turq: Yes, in fact, I do. We dated about 17 years ago. She probably hates my guts now...after what happened.
Cyan: Why, what happened?
Turq: I treated her horribly. Those were my darkest days. I was addicted to drugs, and they influenced everything I did, and I did some horrible things while high on them. I forced Ivy into sex on almost a daily basis, and I beat her. One time, I beat her so badly that she ended up in the hospital, and it caused her to lose our baby. After that, I hit rock bottom. I came back to see her, and she wasn't there, but her sister was. I-I don't know what came over me...but I-I raped her. That poor sweet innocent girl, Jade. I probably traumatized her...
Sorry...I'm rambling. You probably don't care seeing as this doesn't concern you...
I sit there shocked for a moment. If this is true, then I know why Mom lied to me about him. It sounds like he made her life miserable. One thing is for sure, this is definitely my father. Appearance alone gives it away, but the timeline also fits. I'm seventeen years old, and he dated her seventeen years ago...
Cyan: Sir, actually, this does concern me.
Turq: Oh? How so?
Cyan: My name is Cyan Greene. I am your son. Ivy Greene is my mother.
He stands there with a confused look on his face.
Turq: You're serious? I thought you died...
Cyan: I know it's true. I saw your photo in an album Mom gave me. She told me you died when I was a baby. After what you just told me, I understand why.
Turq: Yeah, I don't blame her. I hurt her very badly. She must've have been protecting you from me.
Cyan: So are you still...?
Turq: On the drugs? No, kicked the habit after the incident with her sister. I couldn't live with myself after that, and decided to get help.
Cyan: That's good to hear.
Turq: Come here... son.
He pulls me into a hug with a smile on his face.
Turq: It makes me so happy to see you alive and well. Don't be a stranger okay?
Cyan: I have a plan...you in?
Turq: Eh, it's worth a shot.
I say goodbye and hurry home. Luckily Mom was asleep when I got home so I snuck in without her noticing I was late. Tomorrow was the day to set my plan in motion. Let's hope it works.
.............................................................................................................................................................
Ivy's POV
Cyan: Hey, Mom, there's someone at the door for you.
Ivy: Okay, I'm coming.
I open the door, and I can't believe who's there.
Turq, is that you?
